We are excited to inspire our friends from the Toddlers program at RisingOaks Ealy Learning | John Sweeney to embark on a journey of kindness by caring for our planet. Let’s encourage them to engage in gardening, recycling, and to always throw garbage in the bins. Kindness is not just a social skill; it is a path to becoming compassionate and empathetic individuals.
We love celebrating Earth Day, and this year, we wanted to do something special for our community. We organized a walk to pick up litter behind the school. Our goal was to inspire toddlers at the park to make a positive impact, so we encouraged them to help pick up litter. We provided gloves and educators made sure to check the area for hazardous items. Also, we taught the children to not touch hazardous items like broken glass for safety. The children worked together to collect litter, and they did a fantastic job. Finley was the first to spot a piece of paper, and with a big smile, he quickly picked it up. His excitement motivated the other children to join in.
Ilija, Lily and Hunter were on a fun adventure together, excited to help make the planet a cleaner place! While exploring the park, they came across various pieces of litter and they eagerly dove into picking up everything they could find. Each bit of garbage they collected brought smiles to their faces as they worked side by side. The fun did not stop there, they also noticed sticks and leaves, which they happily added to their collection. Even when they could not find any more litter, they laughed and enjoyed their time together, knowing that every little effort counted in taking care of the earth. It was a great day of watching the children demonstrate their developing teamwork skills and foster their friendships!
After a quick cleanup, we took a break to enjoy the beautiful morning. The children fostered their gross motor skills as they ran up and down the hill, laughing and cheering each other on. After our fun run, we strolled through the neighbourhood to wrap up our day. I was proud of everyone’s effort! We made a difference and had fun doing it. Encouraging children to recognize their ability to make an impact inspires them to take on new challenges. Toddlers can help take care of the planet by planting trees, recycling, and gardening, which builds a sense of belonging and responsibility!
