Welcoming New Friends with Sensory Play

Toddler 1

This month we have had lots of new friends start, so we have been slowly introducing sensory and messy play. On everyone’s first day we introduced just a small bin of bubbles and it was a hit. Slowly we have added more and more sensory experiences. From water, to oobleck and even a cleaner option of shredded paper. If it’s finding bugs in a pond, driving trucks through mud or flowers in paper the toddlers have been exploring through their sense of touch. While some took a while to warm up to the idea and others jumped right in eventually everyone has found a sensory experience they enjoyed. We wonder what other senses we could explore; maybe taste or smell next?
