A new school year brings with it the perfect opportunity to explore, discover, and inquire about the world around us. This year, School-Age Group 1 is embarking on an exciting, year-long virtual journey—exploring 10 countries in 10 months!
Each month, we’ll "travel" to a new country, where we’ll dive into its culture by exploring a popular food, a significant event, and a traditional musical instrument. Through this immersive experience, children will gain exposure to global perspectives they may not otherwise encounter, while also learning about the power and importance of tradition in different cultures around the world.
Our journey begins this September in Germany, where we’re taking in the rich sights and sounds of the country. Our first stop: learning about the accordion, a traditional instrument that many of the children were already familiar with. After discovering its origins and cultural significance, the group tapped into their creativity by designing their own paper replicas of the accordion—bringing both music and art into our global exploration.
We’re thrilled to continue our travels through Germany and can’t wait to see what other adventures lie ahead!
