Every Child is An Artist

Program Name: School-age 2

Throughout February, School Age 2 children were immersed in a variety of art activities designed to stimulate their critical thinking abilities. Art serves as a medium for children to express their ideas, and educators capitalized on this by employing strategies that foster creativity and exploration. Instead of providing rigid instructions, educators offered open-ended art materials like paints, markers, clay, and collage materials, allowing children to experiment and express themselves freely. This approach nurtures creativity and enables children to delve into their interests. The children engaged in creating and presenting puppet shows, nature-inspired art, and crafting cards for their families and friends. Collaboration was encouraged, with children working together on puppet shows to showcase their artistic skills and reflect on their work. These discussions about challenges and achievements were instrumental in developing the children's critical thinking skills and self-awareness.

Through these strategies, children are provided with opportunities to express their creativity. Educators foster their interest in art, enabling children to build confidence, enhance their empathy, and learn to view the world from diverse perspectives. These abilities collectively equip children with the confidence and passion needed to tackle challenges creatively as they navigate through life.
