About the Position:
As a member of the operations team you will be part of a group of highly dedicated individuals with a shared vision of achieving the organizations mission and goals.
The Assistant Supervisor will be designated as the acting Supervisor, during the Supervisor’s absence and fulfill all aspects of the position.
As a member of the centre team the Assistant Supervisor maintains a high standard of care following the policies and procedures of RisingOaks Early Learning and guidelines of the Child Care and Early Years Act.
The Assistant Supervisor demonstrates knowledge of the day to day financial operations of the child care centre (e.g., cash handling procedures, deposits, cheque requisitions, spending limits etc.)
In partnership with the supervisor, ensures that RisingOaks’ program, curriculum and overall service remains current with new trends in the field of Early Childhood Education.
The Assistant Supervisor provides tours of the facility for new families and completes the registration process (e.g., completion of registration forms, creating family file in Digibot etc.)

Your total compensation package will include your base salary (paid hourly), reimbursement of professional regulator (RECE membership), paid sick and personal days, RSP matching program and a comprehensive benefits program. In addition to vacation entitlement, we have a paid Christmas closure.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Early Childhood Education diploma
- Registered member of the College of ECEs in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Early Childhood Educator in a child care setting.
- Standard First Aid & CPR (level C) training
- Safe Food Handling certificate is a definite asset
Required Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of domains of childhood development
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, related regulations, quality standards of practice and licensing requirements
- General knowledge of curriculum theories and philosophies (e.g., Reggio, High/Scope, etc.)
- Ability to work individually and as a team
- Knowledge of problem-solving and conflict resolution skills or principles
- Knowledge of theories and approaches to observation and documentation techniques
- Knowledge of diversity of family contexts and the impact these have on our work with children.
- Knowledge of available community resources and organizations that support children and families
- Demonstrated organization and time management skills and ability to multi-task
Days and Hours: Monday to Friday (9:00 – 5:30 pm; may change based on enrolment needs)
37.5 hours per week with flexibility as required. Occasional evening (e.g., staff meeting)
Compensation: paid hourly;
$31.38 - $37.65
Estimated annual salary, based on 37.5 hours per week would be $61,191.00 – $71,662.50 per annum
In addition to base salary, eligible employees receive a Provincial Wage Enhancement Grant (PWEG) of up to $2/hour for in-ratio hours based on the terms and conditions outlined by the Ministry of Education.
