Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care Plan (CWELCC)
We invited RisingOaks Early Learning families to share what the $10-a-day child care plan, with its significant fee reductions, means for their family. Check out a sample of the responses below in the yellow box.

March 28, 2022 marks a historic day for child care in our province and brings great news for families with children 6 and under.
The Ontario and federal governments announced an agreement to implement the CWELCC funding program in Ontario. A national, universal child care system will now become a reality!
- give families access to more affordable and high-quality child care options
- help lower child care fees for parents of children under the age of six
- increase child care spaces
- support the child care workforce
- support inclusive child care
Addressing Affordability
- is under the age of six
- turns six years old and is enrolled in a licensed preschool, kindergarten or family age group or a licensed home child care premises, until June 30
- The fee reductions also apply to parents who are receiving partial fee subsidy with a parent contribution.
On March 28, 2022, Ontario announced a child care fee reduction of up to 25% for children under age 6, retroactive to April 1, 2022.
By December 31, 2022, Ontario further reduced child care fees up to 37% bringing the provincial average fee to $23 per day (50% of 2020 fees)
Effective January 2025, Ontario capped fees at $22 per day for children under age 6.
By March 2026, Ontario will lower licensed child care fees to an average of $10 per day.
- Note that the average calculation includes those receiving fee subsdidy.

RisingOaks has been Approved!
RisingOaks Early Learning has been approved and is operating under the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program.

- For those in before and after school who turn 6 prior to June 30, they will qualify for the remainder of the school year.
- If a child turns six on or after July 1, they will only qualify for reduced fees until the end of their birthday month.
