Exploring Careers

Program Name: School-age 3

Career exploration can be defined as the process of learning about different fields, pathways to education/careers, and goals. Children have shown interest in exploring careers. They have been engaged in discussing about different trades, universities, and colleges. They were discussing about differences between different job titles and professions. They also talked about what they wanted to be when they grow up. It was amazing to see their little minds working towards their career thoughts and developing a sense of community.

To enhance their knowledge and skills, the educator arranged some activities with children. They participated in activities related to their interests in careers, which included Career Scavenger Hunt, Mock interviews, Career Charades, and Role-playing games. They also discussed the skills and educational requirements needed to be successful in various fields.

The children explored the early stages of career exploration, emphasizing the importance of self-discovery. This involved self-exploration where they recognize their own needs, strengths, personality, skills, and interests to make informed academic and career decisions. Career exploration activities were designed to help children uncover their individual strengths and abilities, enabling them to grasp the diverse opportunities within various career domains.
