Program Name: Toddler 1

This month in Toddler 1 we have been interested in outside play. The toddlers are soaking in the last few weeks of nice warm, sunny weather and have been really testing their limits and exploring the outside both in our playground and in the community. With some new friends in our room there has been some risky play in our playground with the new smaller friends following the lead of the older toddlers in the room. The toddlers have been climbing up the playground ramp and jumping off higher objects without an educator's hand. When we venture to the pond we are getting brave searching for frogs. On our first trip to the pond, the toddlers were so excited to show their new friends the ducks swimming in the water. We had lots of voices yelling “Ducks, Ducks”, “Quack, Quack”, and “Ducks come here”. Eugene and Emily were able to spot a frog, Emily said “Look frog, come see”. Everyone rushed over to see the little frog head peeking out of the water. We watched it closely and some friends wanted to greet it, saying “Hi frog”. The frog eventually swam away and the group said “Bye frog” as they watched and laughed.
