Program Name: School-age 3

Children have enjoyed the month of September in the School Age Program.  They were engaged in outdoor fun and have participated in multiple activities throughout the month. Some children enjoyed building with a variety of materials such as blocks, magnets, connectors, Legos, and gears. They used their fine motor skills, creative abilities and rational thinking to build structures. Many have shown an interest in art, so they have created sketches on the pavement using chalk, or used sand art to create sand houses, race tracks, and construction sites. They have expressed their creativity through these experiences as well as enhanced their fine motor skills. We also participated in a Scavenger Hunt with another group of children where the groups used their knowledge of colours to identify specific objects around the playground, marking off each item they found.

All of these activities had the children engaged together in some way and encouraged a sense of belonging, letting everyone to participate in their own way. The group demonstrated responsibility and respect while using the several resources provided to them. It was super fun to see their learning and we can’t for next month to explore more together.

Children engaged in a variety of activities.
