The toddler team had noticed the children are showing loads of interest in the Christmas music and jingles. The toddlers talk about putting stockings up at home and decorating the Christmas tree with their families. The educators started the season with something small by putting out some crafts with different types of wrapping paper, loose parts, and transparent paper and sparkles. The children were so determined and focused and their crafts turned out so beautifully.

Toddler painting cardboard christmas tree

As a team we decided to make our own Christmas tree out of cardboard with the children so it would be personalized. We drew the outline of the tree on the cardboard and carefully cut it out. The next day the children all picked their choice of paint brush and started dancing to the Christmas music and painting at the same time.

Toddler using glue stick

We wonder if we ask the children if they want to write a letter to Santa would they be interested. If so we can start writing to Santa and put the letters in the supervisor’s mailboxes. We can also to do some crafts with popsicle sticks and decorate it to hang onto the tree. Lastly, we can try baking some gingerbread cookie with the children we know they would love that.
