Balance and Coordination!

Toddler 2

In Toddler 2, the children have been fostering their balance and coordination. Educator Sandy borrowed the circular balance beam from the Infant Room. We got it all set up and then the toddlers were off to practice their balancing! Ellie and Presley went into the middle of the circle and had a dance party by themselves. Brooks went around slowly at first, walking sideways, slowly and carefully. A few of the toddlers held onto an adult's hand or the toy shelf as they walked along the beam. As they became more confident, they let go and did it all by themselves! Violet and Jade walked around the circle a few times. Then Jade bent over and walked around the circle on her hands and feet! A few of the younger toddlers sat on the beam and scooted across on their bums. Even though they were using the balance beam in different ways, they all fostered their gross motor skills and helped to build up their self-confidence! I wonder what else we can balance on?
