Games Away

School-age 2

This month in the school-age program the children have been engaging in all different kinds of games. On our cart, we have board games, card games, and we also like to make up our own games inside and outside! One of their favourite games is Battleship which is a great game to sharpen a child's mind using their memory, strategy and logical skills. Another fun game we have is Spot It which is beneficial to developing a child's focus, visual perception skills as well as fine motor skills.

Outside the all-time favourite game is still soccer even in the month of January! The children are learning some of the important skills like teamwork, perseverance and decision making. The children while playing all these games don’t think of all the benefits they are experiencing but they are all opportunities for growth and development.
Learning isn’t always a lesson being taught, but can be reached through play and having fun!

Our next step is to continue to encourage teamwork by introducing new games to try and possibly designing one of our own!
