Let's Make A Rainbow!

This month the children enjoyed participating in a variety of science experiences! First, we discovered what happens when you fill a plate with milk, add in drops of food colouring and small drops of dish soap! The children watched in amazement as the colours dispersed when the dish soap hit them.

Our favourite activity of the month was creating a rainbow using skittles and warm water! The children fostered their fine motor skills as they helped place the skittles all along the edge of the plate. This also prompted language development, colour recognition and teamwork! Educator Steph filled a mason jar with warm water, and then let the children feel the outside of the mason jar. Ella said it felt “warm like a bath.” Steph then poured the water over the skittles and we patiently waited to see what would happen. Soon the colours started to pull from the skittles towards the center of the plate! What a fun experience!
