Sticky, Sticky Magnets!

Infant

The infants at RisingOaks Early Learning | St Brigid found a magnet in their classroom. They took turns sticking it on various objects around the room. The educators noticed this play and brought in more magnets so that the infants could extend on their work.

Educator Lorie made a magnet puzzle on paper and hung it on the metal wall. She then placed a basket of magnets with the paper puzzle. Each infant took a turn trying to match the magnet shapes to the shapes on the paper. Marcus clapped with pride each time he was able to make a magnet stick to the wall. Brett took some magnets to the fridge and placed them on the front of it. He laughed and pointed at the fridge. “Do the magnets stick to the fridge?” Lorie asked him. With a big smile Brett nodded yes and pointed at the magnets again. Kingston joined this work by taking the magnets off and putting them back on in different places on the fridge. Ava took a magnet to the door and placed it on the wooden part, which fell off. “Does the magnet stick to the glass part of the door?” Lorie asked. Ava tried the magnet on the glass but it did not stick. “Will it stick on this part?” Lorie asked, pointing at the medal door frame. When it stuck this time, Ava looked at Lorie with a big smile!

We wonder what other places the magnets will stick? Is there anything outside that the magnets might stick to?
