Tell us a bit about yourself and why you chose RisingOaks Early Learning for your family’s child care needs?
Kitchener has been home for my family since 2017. We chose RisingOaks for our daughter as we wanted to ensure she had a place where she could grow and learn.

Why did you decide to get involved with RisingOaks’ Board of Directors?
We started at RisingOaks during the pandemic and found that even without being able to enter the building we had grown so found of the team at Saint John Paul II. I wanted to find a way to give back to the organization. Joining the Board was just that opportunity.

How has being a Director on the Board benefited you personally and professionally?
It has given me more then I think I can put words to. I am a Registered Social Worker and I am passionate about equity issues. Being a part of the board has given me opportunity to share my experiences with others and help others learn more about the world around them, including our RisingOaks community.

Share a fond memory from your childhood that has stayed with you over the years? How has this and other similar moments influenced your parenting style?
Growing up there was always something going on. From swim lessons to home to cooking on the weekends. Our home was a hub of activities. For me as an adult I have recognized the need to slow down and enjoy the moments. When kids are young it feels like time is speeding by. So pausing and enjoying time with Diana is precious to me.
