Children’s Day was a very special day in our Preschool 2 class at RisingOaks Early Learning | John Sweeney, as we celebrated with joy, creativity, and lots of smiles. From the moment the children arrived, excitement filled the room as they dressed in their favourite costumes and pampas, proudly showing their friends what they had chosen to wear. Saylor arrived with a big smile, confidently showing off her colourful outfit, while Karl excitedly showed his costumes with his friends. This supported confidence, self-expression, and a strong sense of belonging within the group.
The children explored their creativity through fun, hands-on activities. During nail painting, Saylor demonstrated excellent fine motor control as she carefully painted each nail using colours she loves, showing patience and focus. Morgan and Sequoia also enjoyed choosing colours and watching the transformation happen on their nails. At the craft table, the children glued colourful stickers onto their papers. Morgan and Eva showed great concentration as they carefully selected their stickers and placed them with purpose. Many children shared materials respectfully, waited patiently for their turn, and offered kind compliments to one another. These moments supported social development, patience, cooperation, and fine motor skills.
During snack time, learning continued in a healthy and imaginative way. Morgan, Saylor, and Karl explored a variety of fruits and vegetables as they created happy faces and insects on their plates. They confidently named the foods, discussed the different colours, and explored the textures and tastes of each item. They also talked about how fruits and vegetables help their bodies grow strong and healthy. Rose, Hunter and Sequoia happily enjoyed eating their snacks, showing independence and a positive attitude toward healthy food choices. This experience encouraged language development, healthy lifestyle awareness, and early science concepts.
Throughout the day, the children demonstrated joy, cooperation, creativity, and growing independence. They laughed together, shared ideas, helped one another, and took great pride in their achievements. Children’s Day was not only a celebration of fun but also a meaningful day of learning, growth, and connection.
