The children in School-age 1 enjoyed exploring all the month long! Although it is autumn we had a few days of summer like weather! Educator Velvet decided to set up some water play outside for the children to explore. We added some shells and containers to see what the children would do with the provocations. While playing with the water the children also decided to add in some of their own toys along with the shells, exploring water with their hands and sharing fun moments with their friends.
The children explored water by testing which objects float or sink, pouring water between containers, and observing how water moves. As they do this type of play and exploration they develop scientific problem-solving skills and fine motor skills.
The best part of the autumn season is watching children learn explore and discover the world through playful experiences.
