Spray paint masterpiece!

  • Toddler

This month the toddlers have enjoyed exploring spray bottles! One morning, the toddlers explored painting using the spray bottles. We added paint and water to four bottles and brought them outside. On the fence we hung pieces of paper and the toddlers took turns creating masterpieces!

Red, blue, yellow and purple options were given to each child. Emma started with purple then asked for blue. As she sprayed she said “it looks like frozen” maybe reminding her of Elsa’s dress. David and Roman both said “spray the paper”. Millie, Aiden and Micah liked to hold the nozzle close up to the paper while spraying. Cameron and Eva needed a little help with pulling the trigger as the bottle is quite big for their little hands, we found it helped to hug the bottle and push the trigger with one hand! Clark said “red water” as he noticed it running down his paper.

The toddlers enjoyed learning about the spray bottles, how they work and seeing a different way they can use them. This experience supports fine motor skills, creativity, colour recognition, turn taking, and parallel play!
