Throughout the toddler’s play, the staff started noticing that the children gravitated to playing with cars, driving them across the tops of shelves and down ramps. They were drawn to the large wooden spool outside; pushing it around and watching it roll.

We discovered that the toddlers knew that balls rolled, wheels spin, and balls go through tunnels. We thought they might want to explore what rotates, why, and how fast can we make things go.
