A Month of Creative Expression

Program Name: Preschool 2

This month, our classroom has been filled with colour and creativity as the children explored a variety of art experiences throughout the days. Each opportunity allowed them to express themselves in unique ways while experimenting with different materials, textures, and techniques.

Children explored painting with different tools and techniques that sparked curiosity and excitement. Using scrapers, they created lines and patterns, noticing how colours mixed and changed with each movement. With sponges, they dabbed, pressed, and stamped, discovering new textures and effects. We also introduced painting with magnets and marbles, where children explored movement and cause and effect as colours travelled across the paper in unexpected ways. Shaking painting brought lots of energy and laughter, as the children moved containers to watch how the paint spread, mixed, and blended inside. Watercolour painting offered a softer experience, where children slowed down and observed how colours gently flowed and mixed together.

A highlight of our explorations was bubble painting, which quickly became a joyful and playful moment in our classroom. Children explored the soapy paint, made marks on paper, and naturally extended the experience by blowing bubbles. Watching them grow, float, and pop filled the room with excitement. Children pointed, reached, and shared their observations, fully immersed in the moment.
