Lights, camera, play!

Program Name: Preschool 2

In Preschool 2, we believe children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful experiences. In January, we supported this by revamping our dramatic play area, into a movie theatre!

In this inviting space, children explored different roles like serving popcorn and drinks, choosing their favourite snacks, and of course, watching “movies” together which they took turns creating on a large whiteboard.

Wearing the 3D glasses, sharing food, and interacting with their peers brought so much joy to their play while also providing opportunities for communication, cooperation, and confidence.

As their excitement continued, our preschoolers naturally moved this movie theatre play throughout the classroom. Some children expressed their ideas through art, while others gathered around to share pretend pizza and snacks with different and unconventional materials.

The children observed one another, joined ongoing play, and strengthened their relationships, thus creating a sense of belonging. Through this child-led imaginative play, our preschoolers got to embrace curiosity, positive relationships, and their love for learning!
