Program Name: Preschool 1

A lot of our preschool 1 friends started to tell us they had gone apple picking with their families on the weekends. This gave the educators an idea to try bobbing for apples with the preschool children. We filled up one of our sensory bins with water and one at a time the children tried to catch the apples with their mouths.

"This is so hard, it keeps floating away," said Stark.

"Come back here apple," said Elijah with his hands on his hips.

"Are you serious," laughs Elia as he stared at his apple.

All the children waited patiently for their turn while the bin was emptied and cleaned between each child. Then they used caution while they attempted to get their own apples. "It went up my nose," yelled Ezra as he lifted his head from the sensory bin.

Not all of the children were up for the challenge, which was okay, a few children went right for their apples by using their hands. "Apple," smiled Colton as he took his first bite from the red apple. There was a lot of conversation around the snack table about their struggles with grabbing the apples. The children also noted that each apple was light enough to float on the water vs. it sinking to the bottom.
