The preschool room explored with suspended lantern painting. We provided the preschool children with an invitation to explore this provocation. Painting moving objects at various heights while suspended certainly had its challenges but our preschoolers seem to love a challenge! As the educators observed the children you could see their curious natures as they worked on painting the lanterns. As the children engaged with this experience some concentration tongues poked out behind their smiles and laughter. The preschoolers enhanced their hand-eye coordination while getting their creative juices flowing. As the children painted some would duck down to avoid the wet paint getting on their face while other children embraced the mess and got it all over their faces and in their hair. The lanterns would spin and swing side-to-side when they were pushed from the brush strokes.
