Tower Building with Pool Noodles!

Program Name: Preschool 1

The Preschool 1 room created towers using pool noodles and shaving cream. The preschool children scooped the shaving cream with the pool noodles and stacked them on top of each other. The shaving cream held the pool noodles in place just as glue does which allowed the children to stack multiple pieces quickly to build a tower. “This is so much fun,” chimed Carter and Cooper.

The preschool children explored cause and effect as the towers would tip over when too many noodles were stacked on top of one another. Luckily the tower would stay in place thanks to the shaving cream, which allowed the children to problem solve faster by standing the tower in its upright position.

The preschoolers also explored the shaving cream texture by massaging it in their hands and between their fingers. “I don’t like this,” Yusuf said as he looked at Mohsen who appeared to enjoy it by lathering the shaving cream up and down his arms. “It’s sticky,” noticed Landon. “Look my hands are stuck together,” said Alice. “It’s stuck to my finger, it won’t come off,” said Noah as he shook the pool noodle stuck to his hand back and forth. Clapping became a common occurrence at the table which then caused the shaving cream to fly in all different directions!
