Welcome to Preschool 2

Program Name: Preschool 2

This September, Preschool 2 welcomed some new faces into our classroom!

Many of our new classmates moved from the Toddler rooms within the centre, but some are experiencing their first time in childcare all together.

We know there’s been many emotions and challenges that have come with their new classroom, educators and peers. But, to make the transition a little easier, our environment has changed almost daily to adjust to children’s interests and needs. Our approach as a team is ensuring children’s spaces are set up for success, curiosity and creativity. We believe that without change, we simply cannot grow. The question is, how have we grown already?

We have been very lucky with our group of preschoolers being courageous enough to step out of their comfort zones! In just a few short weeks we are so proud to see connections that have blossomed in our classroom already. As we know, building relationships with others is crucial for social and emotional development, but why? Cultivating friendships with classmates provides opportunities for children to problem solve, take turns, and understand empathy.

Furthermore, to scaffold the children’s excitement of making new friendships, we will continue to establish positive interactions between peers, teaching team and families. We as educators understand how difficult these changes in children’s lives can be. By creating a community within our classroom that fosters each other’s sense of belonging and well being, we can embark on this new journey of growth and learning together!

We are so excited for this new group and we can’t wait to see how they will grow!
