Toddler 2 is so excited that spring is finally approaching, especially this year with the heavy snow falls and the cold winter days, we really are eager to put away the winter gear and put on our spring time outfits.
Spring is about new beginnings, where nature comes back to life with blooming flowers, growing trees, and warmer weather, making it a fun time for the children to explore and enjoy the outdoors.
During the spring season we are eager to explore the outdoors for longer time frames. Going for walks within the neighborhood to see signs of spring taking place. We may participate in scavenger hunts, plant seeds, read, or engage in arts and crafts. Children love the spring season because it provides freshness and joy. A time to be optimistic and cheerful.
Recently, the toddler 2 program engaged in two separate provocations of arts and crafts. These activities allowed the toddlers to be expressive with the different types of material’s while learning about colour mixing, cause and effect, experimentation, and fine motor skills. The children created Butterflies using a marker and water substance and Tie-Dye Flowers using food colouring and water mixture. In both provocations the children brought spring to life within the classroom when using brightly coloured materials to make everyone feel a sense of togetherness while providing a sense of creativity and expression.
