Preschool 1

Today we started writing pen pal letters “all about us” to St. Brigid. The Preschool 1 room at Saint John Paul ll is starting a pen pal letter exchange with the preschooler children from the St. Brigid location. We found all about us paper, and asked the preschoolers the questions on the paper. “My favourite colour is black” explained Ayla. “Mine is blue like the maple Leafs” explained Vincent. “My favourite animal is an elephant” explained Jillian.

When the educators asked the question of what your favourite animal is, the elephant has been majority of the children’s favourite. Christina than asked the preschoolers what they like to do, “I like to play” explained Isla. C “I like to give hugs” explained Lainey. “I love to run” explained Joshua. “I like to read” explained Mila. We than asked the preschoolers what their favourite food was, “I love chips” explained Evie. “I like all food” explained Danilo. “I like watermelon” explained Eva.

The children than were asked where they live, “I live in the forest” explained Dominic. “Me too” shouted Eva. “I live over there” explained Evie. We than took the children’s height to add onto the paper. The preschoolers were able to help measure each other, and find out how fall everyone is.

Once the papers were all filled out the preschoolers started colouring their paper, to make it colourful. Once the preschoolers were finished colouring the papers, they helped measure each other, “look Danilo you are 86 cm” explained Christina to Danilo pointing to the measuring tape. Once we were all done with the papers we placed them into an envelope and sent it off to St. Brigid.

We can’t wait to hear back from the preschoolers at St. Brigid, and learn more about them! During this experience we got to learn more about each other in our room, as well as the educators learning more about the preschoolers. We used our fine motor skills to colour our paper, our communication skills to talk about the things we like, as well as our math skills as we helped measure each other.
