This month, the children returned from their summer vacation with lots of new energy, excitement, and stories to share. It was wonderful to see the children reconnect with their friends and become engaged in play and learning together.
The children enjoyed working collaboratively during a variety of activities. One of their favourite activities was making paper airplanes. They helped each other fold the paper, shared ideas, and experimented with different ways to make their airplanes fly. The children then took turns aiming their airplanes toward the centre of a chart with a red dot. They encouraged one another and celebrated when an airplane came close to the target. Through this activity, the children practiced teamwork, turn-taking, problem-solving, and hand-eye coordination.
Outdoor play also provided the children with many opportunities to connect and learn together. They shared gymnastics and exercise moves, watched their friends, and tried new movements together. The children showed curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored their outdoor environment.
The children also became interested in the insects they found outside. Together, they created a small ecosystem for the insects inside a bottle and called it their “insect house.” This experience encouraged the children to observe and care for living things while developing their curiosity about nature and the world around them.
