The School-age 3 had been asking to do more challenging games, so we planned another minute to win it challenge. The challenge was for one person against another with 6 cups placed in a row in front of them. Both the players have to pick up one cup at a time by blowing up a balloon and stack all the cups at one place. Excited to know that balloons were in involved, everyone picked a balloon and wrote their initial on them to avoid confusion. The first face off was with Amilia against Leo as they laughed and participated in a friendly competition, ending in a tie followed by Eliora and Fred going after. Such challenges increase excitement and encourage participation amongst children since school age children thrive on competitive games. As they blew up their balloons and were places in a position of time management, they used their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination as they hurried up to try and win the challenge. Through participating in the balloon challenge together, we also got to explore the science behind this, learning what pressure, pull and vacuum is.
