Preschool 2

Our Names makes us special and unique, given to us by our mom and dad. We talked about how our name identifies who you are, and may have meaning reflecting your family and culture. We shared our name with our friends and then I asked each preschooler what they felt made them special and unique. Most sat and pondered about that question for a few minutes. I think they are so use to hearing their families and teachers answer that question for them.  These are the children’s responses:

Abby: my mommy, making muffins with mommy, when mommy makes food, my colours.

Henry: my mommy and daddy oh, and my brother, my hugs, I am special when I can go to the Halloween store.

Sebastian: drawing things, hugging my family, playing, going on airplanes, going to Grandma’s house, I love my shoes.

Shay: my head, my toes, when mommy hugs me, when daddy hugs me, when mommy and daddy gives me kisses, my belly button, love my Kobe.

Maddox: my shoes, my head (it will get bigger soon), having bubble baths.

Alivianna: my daddy tickle me, when daddy kisses me, my clothes and hair make me special.

Skylar: my hair, the colour of my legs, the colour of my shoes.

Ellie: daddy, my curly hair, my colour eyes.

Cyril: my clothes, my Pyjamas, my choo, choo train (Thomas).

Jackson: mommy daddy, going to school.

Calvin: my choo choo trains, I like the colour of my family, playing.

Cam: making muffins with mommy, going to Preschool Two Room, I like when mommy and daddy stay with me and we stay home, I love my family.

JJ: my family, my friends Sebastian, Sebastian, my clothes.

Enzo: my dad, my mom.

Aria: my dog, my cat.

Throughout the month of September, we did other activities talking about our names as well. Talking about the importance of each of our names. Some researchers suggest that our names may also influence our personality. Our names can reveal details about our ethnicity or other aspects of our background. Our name is your identity. Its what people call us, it's what we respond to. From the day we are born, we are assigned this identifier. Some people get nicknames or change their name entirely after they are born, but the common thread is a NAME.
