Story Writing

School-age 3

We had a fun story writing activity today. Children picked three paper slips with random words and read them aloud. At first, some felt shy, but soon everyone became excited. Each child used the words to create a short story. One child laughed and said, “I got dragon, pizza, and school, this will be silly!” Another shared, “My story has a talking tree who loves ice cream!” The stories were funny, surprising, and very creative. Children listened to each other and laughed together, showing joy and confidence. One child proudly said, “In my story, the cat flew to space and met a friendly alien,” while another added, “My superhero lost their powers but found them again with kindness.” The group practiced speaking clearly and using their imagination. Some children even used expressive voices, making their stories more engaging. This activity helped build language skills, creativity, and social connection. Children also learned to take turns and respect others’ ideas. By the end, everyone felt proud of their stories and excited to share more. We will continue similar activities to support vocabulary growth and confidence in future sessions too.
