The infants are starting to show their educators that risky play is something they would like to explore. The infant room has been rearranged to accommodate our growing infants! As the infants continue to develop in their abilities, we have set up a variety of equipment to foster risk taking, such as the pickler triangle, the ramp and the hammock. Hudson, Isla and Teddy are comfortable taking the lead when it comes to trying new things with confidence and enthusiasm. Leo, Sebby and Brayden follow their peers’ lead as they show interest in joining in on the swinging hammock fun as a social opportunity. Annika, Sierra and Macarius show some interest in risky play, when invited by the educators, at times using their body language to express when they no longer with to participate. We as educators use our observations to be aware of the emerging skills to foster a growing sense of risk, during each developmental milestone.
