Toddler 2

Over the last month the Toddler 2 program has shown a lot of interest in exploring art based materials. With the children showing such a large interest, we as educators wanted to find a creative way for the children to continue to explore them freely and in a purposeful way. This led us to the idea of an open exploration art wall. We opted to apply a clear table cloth on the wall within our classroom to use as a large reusable/washable canvas. The addition of our art wall has allowed the children to continue to explore the materials in a larger space and readily available basis. The space allows for multiple participates at a time, and also easily accommodates the use of various materials.

After seeing the growth of independence that the art wall has provided, we as educators would like to continue to find ways to promote independence and confidence through play amongst the children in our care. Through this opportunity the children will be able to explore and create their own art within their environment that they explore on a daily basis, as well as new experiences that they will encounter.

To continue to encourage teamwork, being open to suggestions and ideas, we could explore with other various items and continue on building these creations using different materials.
