This month, our Preschool 1 room has been filled with beautiful fall colours, creativity, laughter, and lots of hands-on fun! As the leaves outside began to change, we brought the beauty of fall indoors and explored a variety of exciting fall-themed art activities. The children had the opportunity to use plastic leaves as stamps, experiment with painting using real leaves, and decorate leaf printouts with colourful paints and creative designs. It was wonderful to see each child use their imagination and create something unique to brighten up our classroom. One of the highlights of our month was creating a special Thankful Wall. The children coloured wooden turkeys and shared one thing they were thankful for. Their ideas were thoughtful, sweet, and sometimes wonderfully creative! We proudly displayed all of their colourful turkeys together, creating a beautiful reminder of the many people, experiences, and things that bring us happiness and make us feel grateful.
Through these activities, the children explored different colours, shapes, textures, and patterns while strengthening their creativity and fine-motor skills. Painting, stamping, colouring, and decorating provided opportunities to practise hand-eye coordination, concentration, and control while having fun. Our Thankful Wall also encouraged the children to express their thoughts and feelings, build vocabulary and language skills, listen to their friends’ ideas, and develop an understanding of gratitude and appreciation. Most importantly, the children had so much fun creating, sharing, exploring, and celebrating the beauty of fall together! Each activity gave them a chance to learn through play, make choices, and proudly share their creations with their friends and educators.
As we continue into the season, we will keep exploring the beauty and changes of fall through nature hunts, art experiences, sensory activities, stories, music, and other hands-on learning opportunities. We look forward to observing the changing colours around us, discovering new textures and natural treasures, sharing our ideas, and making many more wonderful memories together.
