Decorating Our Magic Bus

Preschool 2

This month in Preschool 2, we had so much fun decorating our magic bus. We brought all the pieces and connected them together to make the bus. It was tricky for us cause the pieces were big and tall, but the educators noticed that the children were showing their helping skills to work on it together. After that, we noticed that there were lots of different patterns, numbers and letters on the bus. Some friends suggested that, “Let’s colour the bus together.” We used crayons, markers, and pencils to colour the bus, and some friends recognized the letters on the bus which they have in their names. When we were done colouring, we took turns going on the bus and opened the roof to say hi to each other. The educators played “The Wheels on the Bus” song and the group started dancing around the bus. After that, one of the children said, “What about we pretend it is a firetruck?” The other children loved that idea and so the educator played the firetruck song on. We developed our fine motor skills by colouring the bus, and developed our cognitive skills by recognizing the letters and patterns.

We have welcomed a lot of new children into our program this month. This activity was a good opportunity for the children to get to know each other by engaging in the activity together. We set up the activity for children to develop their abilities based on children’s interests and trying to make an inclusive environment for every child.

We noticed that the children are interested in different patterns, letters, and numbers. We would like to focus on those parts and create more fun activities for children to explore.
