The Toddler 2 classroom at RisingOaks Early Learning | St. Brigid, always seem to enjoy expressing themselves through art. This month, we have been celebrating self-identity, what makes us each unique, and what brings us joy within our classroom.
Educator Hayley came up with an activity to showcase our love for art and what makes us each unique by offering each child a piece of construction paper, along with some paint. The children had the choice to use sponges, paint brushes, or their hands to paint on their paper. We also made soap bubbles that the children loved popping on their artwork to see the designs left behind.
Hayley spent time over the last month, observing the children’s interests and what makes each child extravagant in their own ways! She then typed up a few snippets and added those words to their artwork, along with a photo of each child and posted them on the wall for the children to revisit along with their educators and families.
Having the toddlers feel confident getting messy in play and growing their skills, teaches long-lasting personal growth into always expressing who they are. As educators, we commit to providing a space for the toddlers to fully embrace themselves, express their creativity and learn with support!
