Frozen Paint and Bubble Art!

Summer Camp

This summer, the Summer Campers have had a big interest in anything art related. The two activities that really stuck out for the children were frozen paint and bubble art. With the frozen paint activity, the children used their imagination in creating some beautiful pictures on a big piece of paper outside. This activity ended up as a hand painting activity due to the children wanting the explore the frozen paint and how it felt in their hands. With the bubble paint activity, the children picked 3 colours that they mainly wanted to use so that’s exactly what we did. One friend suggested we put the bubble guns with the corresponding colour so they match! During this activity, our friends showed just how well they can handle their emotions as some friends were getting frustrated that the bubbles gun weren’t working. But once educator Nicole showed them a trick to make it work, they got super excited about how their art turned out.

During this activity the children developed their social skills as both activities were group activities. They also used their communication skills when talking to peers about what they were doing and how their ideas were coming out into this beautiful art piece. We also used our gross motor skills when we were trying to get the bubble blowers to work.

While we were doing these activities, it got us thinking about what other art activities can we do outside? What items from the outdoor environment can we use in our indoor art area? What other ways can we express ourselves through art?
