Pizza Party!

This month, the JKK’s have been exploring a lot of items on the cart. One day, educator Nicole had made some playdough in a fall colour. We had put it on the table and all of our friends were very interested in exploring it. We placed some playdough mats on the table and invited our friends to come and explore. All of our friends decided they wanted to make a pizza! Some made pepperoni, others made just cheese, and a handful of children made some dessert pizza! We talked about the tools that we needed to use to make our pizzas. Dryden and Beckham had shouted out “rollers to make it flat!” A few other friends had said that we need cutters to make the triangles.

During this activity, our friends used their social and communication skills as some of them working in groups to make their playdough and was having conversations about what topping were going on them and how long to make them for. The children also used their fine motor skills to manipulate the playdough in the way they wanted too.

After this activity it made us wonder a few questions… What other food items could we make with the playdough? What kind of pizza does everyone eat at home? Could we make our own pizza for afternoon snack?
