Snowmen Fun for Everyone!

Toddler 2

This month the toddlers have been loving the snow we have been receiving. We have been using the snow in many ways including making snowmen to tobogganing. The toddlers made a big snowman one day and we even added a hat, nose and eyes. We have brought the snow inside a few times and painted the snow different colours, we even did an activity with shaving cream and one of our friends said it looked like snow! The toddlers have been playing with slime this week and often they will try to make snowmen from the slime.

We decided to expand on snowmen and do some activities with snowmen. We first made melted snowmen. We painted white paint on a piece of paper then added a hat, nose, arms, scarf, and some eyes. The toddlers were able to stick all of the pieces together. Then we used some playdough and started creating little snowmen. We got to practice our fine motor skills learning to roll the playdough into balls and stacking them on top of each other. We used little sticks to make the arms and used some gems to make the buttons on the snowman. The toddlers enjoyed making their own little snowmen and bringing it to life and them getting to squish it all and start over again!

The toddlers continue to develop their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, communication, and creativity through various activities with our snowmen. Hopefully we can get back outside and make more snowmen. I wonder what else we can make in the snow, we can’t wait to see what else the toddler's imaginations can make!
