This month we’ve spent a lot of time creating spooky art work as we begin getting into the Halloween spirit. From jumbo spiders with tiny baby spiders to ghosts, pumpkins, and haunted houses; our school-agers have done it all. They continuously show us how creative their minds are for Halloween decorations in their own unique ways. We started off with our Halloween crafts with our giant spider and spider family that we hung in the centre above our bulletin board and our mini’s stuck in the web on our board. When each child began making their mini spider, they got more creative as they went on. They each traced their own hand, cutting it out to create the legs and body. Everyone had a picture of themselves to cut out their face and glued it on the body to make it personal. That’s when the creative wheels began. Some children added bows, sunglasses, moustaches, and top hats to their spiders. The school-agers are so into the Halloween hype. They’ve drawn haunted houses of all colours and shapes, stacks of crazy pumpkins and straw-blown painted ghosts. Each creative art piece has been extremely unique. While the children have been working on their art, they’ve been sharing with each other what they will be dressed up as on Halloween day, and we can’t wait to see all the costumes! With November incoming we’re excited to see how their creativity continues to flow without having a holiday to dedicate crafts to!
