The month of June in the School-age after school program has been spending as much time outdoors as much as we can to enjoy this beautiful summer weather. We have been exploring nature, doing our craft activities, playing games and having snack outdoors too.
During our last PD Day, we enjoyed an afternoon of water play with a sprinkler to cool off. The children were excited to bring their bathing suits to school that day. After changing and getting our sunscreen on it was time to head out to the school yard. The excitement the children had to have a sprinkler at school was amazing.
This isn't your ordinary type of school day but we sure would love if it was! The children were reminded to be aware of their surroundings as they each took turns running through the cold water.
We had a great afternoon to finish the week off, and we are looking forward to more days like these during our Summer Camp program.
