Trip to Shuh Orchard

  • Preschool

Our preschool children had a wonderful time on their field trip to Shuh Orchards. They were excited to ride the bus, connecting with friends and looking out the windows as we made our way to the orchard.

To help prepare for our adventure, we read through a special field trip book that guided us through the day's activities. Our first activity was a wagon ride through the orchard. The children had so much fun exploring the grounds and learning about the apple-growing process. Farmer Tim shared how apples take the entire season to grow and explained that by September they would be ready to enjoy as a delicious fruit.

Next, we visited the lemurs. Although we only observed them being fed, the children were fascinated as they watched the lemurs climb and move around their enclosure. As exciting as this was, our highlight of the day was feeding the goats and alpacas. At first, some of the children felt a little nervous, but with encouragement and support, they demonstrated bravery and confidence as they offered treats to the friendly farm animals.

Last but certainly not least, the children enjoyed climbing, running, and exploring the large playground. Going down slides, sitting atop of tractors, and climbing the tire mountain were all favourite activities of ours. The field trip was filled with laughter, learning, and memorable experiences for everyone. We are incredibly proud of all our preschoolers for being such wonderful listeners, cooperative classmates, and caring buddies throughout the day. They represented our program beautifully and made this field trip a great success!
