During this Christmas season, School-age 2 have fully embraced the festive spirit by engaging in a range of creative activities that allowed the children to explore their potential while celebrating a season of light and brightness, meaningful across various religions. The children participated in making personalized gifts and gift bags for their parents, which gave them an opportunity to express their creativity in a variety of ways. In addition to crafting, they also baked butter cookies, adding a hands-on element to their celebration in which they got to enjoy.
To complement these special gifts, the children wrote thoughtful and meaningful messages to their parents, incorporating these into the decoration of the gift bags. This process allowed them to develop several key skills, such as hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and literacy. As they selected different materials and colors to bring their ideas to life, they learned to make choices, plan, implement ideas, and express their individuality.
Throughout these activities, there were numerous conversations and interactions among the children, strengthening their sense of community and belonging. Children highlighted the importance and meaning of being able to create their own gifts for those that are so important to them. Over the past few weeks, the children have grown closer as a group while creating something truly special and unique for their families. This experience not only helped them develop various skills but also deepened their understanding of the holiday season's meaning. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
